Coffee, coffee, coffee! Yes! Always and everywhere! That is true, but probably each of you has days when apart from a good cup of coffee you would like to sit and sip it in a beautiful place. To be in a magical location, where you can relax, be surrounded by unique decorations and chill down. In a place where you can feel comfortable, treated with respect and all honors. Where music is international, pleasant and modern but not from the top of pop lists. In a location full of good vibrations and filled with a lot of positive people. With people in a good mood and as you, enjoying their unique cup of coffee with a delicious piece of cake.
All that above you can have in a one single place. That is all Starbucks coffee shops give you. But even they have better and worse locations. Definitively, for example these in big shopping malls will not be on the top list. Other places, like this one in Antigua, Guatemala, will definitively be one of the best! Apart from the fact that the old capital of Guatemala – Antigua is perfect and beautiful in itself, it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979!
Although the city’s history is rather dull and sad, Antigua is beautiful and has many things to offer you. Here, everybody will find something interesting for himself. Apart from a lot of churches, historical buildings, archeological sites, ruins and museums, there is plenty of activities that can be done there and in the close neighborhood. Starting from day trips to nearby towns and villages, through trekkings, volcano climbing and ending on cultural experiences like learning about local traditions and customs. Apart from that, Antigua offers many places where you can practice your Spanish, improve your language skills or even start it from the beginning. Finally, for all those of you who love culinary experiences, cooking classes are offered by many places.
And coffee. Coffee and cocoa plantations in surroundings make a great possibility of visiting organic farms and learn about the whole cultivation and processing path of both plants.
But there are days and moments when you would like to relax, read your book, check messages and do the whole stuff that you were not doing for a long time while travelling. Days when you want to spend your time in a nice place, with a good cup of coffee or tea and where you can feel as at home. Then you MUST go to a Starbucks coffee shop in Antigua, Guatemala. That is a really wonderful and a magical place! Not only because it is located in the heart of the old town of the city, but also because it is unique in itself. It is beautifully furnished, has comfortable couches, sofas, chairs and even rocking chairs! It gives you the possibility of working remotely if you wish or you have to. Apart from that, it is a nice place to spend some time on reading a book or a newspaper in a comfy area. Finally chilling there would be a pleasure in itself. Apart from that, separated areas offer some intimacy and tranquility.
On the other hand, a wide open patio is a great place where you can be on a fresh air, listen to singing birds and observe the nature. You cannot compare this starbucks coffee shop to any other, no matter where it is. For example, this in the capital of Guatemala or in the Dominican Republic (You can read more about our experiences in Santo domingo in the post Starbucks Coffee Store – An iconic Siren Café in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), although they are nice, have their own climate and are well located, they are far worse than this one! That is an unforgettable experience!
